Project Information

Service Voltage

Single dwelling service load. Results are calculated load amperes; conductor, breaker and neutral sizing are separate.

General Loads

Load DescriptionQty / ft²Load VA

Cooking Appliances

Enter quantity and nameplate VA; group identical appliances on the same row. The calculator automatically separates the entries into the applicable Table 220.55 Column C, Column A and Column B groups and adds their demand loads.

Electric Dryers

Each dryer uses at least 5,000 VA or its nameplate rating, whichever is larger.

Appliance Loads

Enter appliances fastened in place on this service. The calculator counts qualifying loads automatically and applies 75% demand when there are four or more. Other loads belong in the 100% row below; do not duplicate loads already included elsewhere.

HVAC Loads

Enter cooling and heating loads at 100%. If an HVAC motor is the largest applicable motor, enter its component VA once in the Motor section below.

Motors

Enter additional motors not already included above. Use the applicable motor load VA, not breaker size. The largest applicable motor receives one additional 25% across HVAC, appliances and these motors.

EV Charging Loads

EV charging uses 7,200 VA or nameplate, whichever is larger. Enter each EV charger separately. If the chargers share an energy-management system, enter the system's combined maximum load once.

Enter an EV charger quantity and nameplate VA to enable energy management.

Additional Loads at 100%

Additional Continuous Loads at 125%
